Love of the Central Coast
Who We Are
We can’t get enough of the California Central Coast and love exploring to bring you the experience; day trips, essential tours, unique local products & more!
Did you know the Central Coast stretches from Ventura County to the Monterey Bay Region, fun!
So why did we start Love of the Central Coast?
Visiting the Central Coast and looking for something to do? Live locally want want to try something new? It’s really not that easy to find what you want to do, get it scheduled, buy tickets or rentals and then have the fun.
There are websites with lists of point-of-interest, some tour suggestions and review sites like yelp.com to browse but no central place to plan a great day of food, tours and other local fun all online, easily!
Often families just opted to walk around Downtown SLO and drive through Cal Poly’s campus, then picking a restaurant as much for ease of parking as for what they actually were craving for dinner. There needs to be a better way and that is part of our mission, travel better, easily.
Support Local Business Better
Additionally, we noticed that many local retailers & tour operators had little or no online presence AND they found eCommerce too difficult. With more and more retailers closing year after year, we wanted to help make local eCommerce easier for the retailers, tour operators and especially for those visiting the area.
With over 20 years of online Internet marketing and cCommerce experience our founder Rob Wickens and his team decided to create a central place to support local businesses and help them expand their reach and revenues that were being lost to places like Amazon.
Did You Know
The Central Coast is an area of California, roughly spanning the coastal region between Point Mugu and Monterey Bay.
Six counties make up the Central Coast: from south-to north, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz.
Think Locally, Act Globally
Help local businesses remain viable in a world increasingly difficult for brick & mortar retails and small businesses.
If we don’t think local and make available globally, companies like Amazon will, like it or not. Let’s keep our local economies stronger together!
Reduce Reuse Recycle
We practice reducing, reusing and recycling on a daily basis.
Our office has saved over a trash truck worth of recyclables from going to the landfill each year. Imagine if every office and household on the central coast did the same just to start!
Inspired by the story of the Mayo brothers (William and Charles Mayo) working with the Sisters of Saint Francis how together they built a legacy of helping and healing that thrives today as the world-renowned Mayo Clinic & Foundation.
The Mayo Clinics Mission is to “To inspire hope and contribute to health and well-being by providing the best care to every patient through integrated clinical practice, education and research.“. It would be hard to briefly outline the impact the Mayo Brothers drive, focus, perseverance and overall caring has on Rob Wickens founder of Love of the Central Coast here, so we highly suggest watching the impressive Ken Burn Documentary – The Mayo Clinic: Faith – Hope – Science on PBS .
Theirs is an amazing story that the Love of team aspires to by using our skills and abilities to help many small business owners & entrepreneurs do better, increase sustainability and thrive. Ideally with out help the Love of partners will create solutions that live well beyond this lifetime.
